Why do conservative Christians vote conservative and or seem to fall into the Republican fold?

This was a question I was asked just the other day and thought I might as well post it, and so here is my answer..................

Well, this is a matter of opinion and fact. I will do my best to examine the facts though they undoubtedly will be swayed be my opinion.

The short answer lies almost entirely in 3 issues. The first is abortion. I would say that Christendom as a whole is opposed to abortion, under almost any circumstance. I like to believe that we are just slightly more tolerant than absolutely opposed. I would also like to believe, that we would ordain abortion when the life of the mother is ACTUALLY threatened. The hair splitting creates a political issue. Only the atheist insists that it is a woman’s right to take the life of a fetus, without regard for the life of the fetus, declaring that it is only a potential life. Even most left Christians don’t like abortion as a contraceptive, but can’t or won’t see an alternative.

The second is more esoteric. It is unbeknownst to most, but individual sovereignty is another. We conservatives, feel as if the larger the social-program, the smaller the individual. We are Biblically created to be self-governing (in conjunction with God only) and therefore it sets poorly with our spirit. We believe that free will includes the right to choose whom we shall bless with our giving, and that Government mandates, guised in the way of taxation is deceit. To declare that there should be “entitlements” is to foster codependency and even social addiction. The evidence of this is insurmountable. We are the only country in the world that has “poor” fat people. I could go on about the cancer of “entitlements” but I won’t.

The last is more personal. We see the core representatives of the left and they are sickening. They are immoral, selfish, perverse, self-exalted, arrogant, egocentric, and narcissistic. They hate Americanism, and boast a mantra’ similar to the communists of the Red Menace. They pursue power and total financial control over the population, in its entirety. The stated agenda is to globalize our economy, our government, and our great land. The UN has been bedfellows to the elite left in their mutual attacks against our country’s sovereignty for years. Imposing treaties upon Americans, through these so called conservational environmentalists. Treaties prohibit or restrict, Americans from using American parks and waterways.

Just during the last election campaign at the DNC, when Mr. Kerry attempted to sound pro military, the crowd fell silent (it was sad watch his speech), after many large rounds of applause for the typical left rhetoric. It is these kinds of things that jade the right. And as recently as this week, some goof ball (Dem elected official) from Frisco says that we should do away with the American military. And I quote “What good has it been, what good has it done anyone in the last five years?”

Even Allen Combs was shocked.

As the last of these falls to the page, I realize that we are also alienated as Christians (as a whole) from the left. They try to pretend that they are all about God, but listen more closely. They are the party of the atheist. They are the party of the ACLU. They are the party of banning prayer. They are the party who sympathized with the terrorists. They are the party who wants Americans to give up their guns. They are the party who wants to control the Church but wants the Church to stay out of government. They are all about liberalism but would have evangelicals imprisoned for preaching against homosexuality. They are the party of hate crimes, and think that NAMBLA should be allowed to have a voice. What could be more hateful than to allow grown men to deceive boys into premature, and homosexual contact? And they do this in the name of the 1st amendment. What hypocrites. And I don’t think that this makes them the party of “inclusion” but rather just the opposite.

If you like, I could give you a long list.

You know, I would ask you and anyone who thinks they want to vote left, to justify doing so. After all, what qualities does the Democratic Party exhibit that we can attribute as Godly? Which Dem would you point to as a confessing Christian?

I am sadden to say that most Americans don’t know why they vote the way they do.

If you do not believe that you have to push your views on others (no matter how much this annoys them), explain why you do not believe this despite the fact that the New Testament seems to suggest that you must do this to get to Heaven (for instance, in Matthew 28:19-20).

Regardless of what is said, to take a different viewpoint is called (arguing). To seek via inquiry, is (mean) or (loveless) or some other tripe.

To question is, "satanic".

Boy oh boy, if some of these so called believers had to live as an Apostolic Christian...... Well they wouldn't.

It doesn't matter what I say, some dullard has some whiny crying to do.

I even had it said that I'm not intelligent enough to communicate my point. All because I didn't jump up and down in accord with another's viewpoint. As the finger pointer misquoted the scripture, drawing it out of context. Typical.

If all members of the discussion all have the same perspective, then WHAT'S THE POINT.

That's not a discussion but rather a dictatorship, the dulling of the masses. Thus, the dumbing of Christendom.

Did you know that recently the Catholic Church has issued a retraction on "limbo". This is where they have believed (not a formal position of the Church) that those whom had died went. At least those who had not committed any real crimes. Such as babies and nice people. Or those who had some time to spend in pergatory but not hell. Yep, they still except that as doctrine. Yep still an ongoing DISCUSSION!

Last week the Church has declared that no such place exists (formally). I wonder why it took them 2000 years to conclude this. Probably because so many of these morons were sitting around saying things like. "We should be nice and not offend anyone" or "If we want people to think we are smart, we better keep it real simple".

I wonder after 2000 years what got in their crawl. Just a sudden urge to argue with protestants. Sure that's it, "these foolish, lost, Lutherans, won't mind if we come up with some new understanding at this late date, so let's make up some crap and fling it their way".

Yep that's the ticket, monkey theology.

Actually, it is because they know that they MUST have ongoing debates about the meaning of scripture. This has been going on at the Vatican for centuries. There it is, ongoing debate amongst the highest officers of the largest Christian Church on the planet.

They must be wrong.

Yep, that is what it is all about. Just make up something and fling away.

I wonder, do they ever read their Bibles? Do they ever talk about other ideas? NOPE, that would be Satan!

Better that we all get along and be wrong.

Makes me want to choose science, at least they are willing to say "oops, might be wrong, try something else."

This is the very reason science gets to argue, that we believers are out of order. We can't retract. We can't change our position, even when it is obvious we are wrong. We would rather be wrong and hold fast to our guns. Stupid!

Ya know, most of the time I don't have time to blog. I get a few minutes and so I just comment on somebody else's blog.

After, the past couple months I have determined that for the most part I have found no point in making much of a big deal about my own posts.

I would rather this be a debate board. We could post a thought and others could respond. I am tired of always hearing such garbage as "we should be nice" "you should love each other" and so on.

Every time I read blogs they are shallow or just boring. Nobody wants to grow much and so it is silly.

If all we want is for someone to agree with us, why don't we just talk to ourselves?

In the light of all the trash we have had to go through at our Church. It is obvious to me, that people need to be questioned. Problem is, they just cower. It's sad, what will you do when science proves the Earth to be 3.7 billion years old? Quit? Probably.

So I will try. From here forth I shall ask theologicall questions that an atheist has asked me and others in the past.

For those of you who may have just joined us, I think it is important that we understand where this thread came from, and is there really this much discontent amongst us.

First, no there is not that much bitterness or at least not from me.

The point to the thread started as "who is leaving the church and why? Should they?" I saw an opportunity to discuss this sensitive issue as a general topic. I am truly sorry that it was too close to home for some.

Recently (past 5 months) our church has challenged me to research these very questions. We have some high quality info surrounded by a myriad of well published research, including gallop poles of this topic.

The issue of this thread had become "biblical obedience" as the underlying course of discussion. I had read several of the posts on other blogs and decided that this was also an important topic. It rapidly deteriorated. I'm disappointed that so many of the body don't understand that they are to be answerable for their actions. However, this does explain a great deal.

This is not intended to be a gossip page! We are not to discuss "so and so" but rather this idea or that concept.

I can't for the life of me, understand where anyone got the "you're being attacked" garbage. So anyhow, I'm not so thin skinned and have brought the thread of this topic here.

THE POINT IS!!!!! We are discussing biblical obedience when making the decision to leave our local church.

Any attempt to provoke someone to turn to God and be conformed to the mind of Christ is offensive and Theological.

If such admonitions were rejected by the heretic or atheist it should be expected, but by the body, sad.

Argue, hardly, you should rather be corrected by elders, than by the world. But many of you don’t see who is your elder and who is wise in Word and who is purely self- motivated.

It is every member’s obligation to be a “theologian”. We are the means by which we grow (iron sharpens iron). We are the salt and light. Unless we don’t know anything about whom we believe in or why, then we are clanging brass. Hmmmm…. Rendered unable to guide our brothers, then, presenting ourselves unworthy before the world, sad again.

For those of you who need to vent, and think that you just want to tell me to go to H*ll in a hand basket, you should stop and think. What are you motivated by? Why are you so angry at me? What have I done that has offended you? Do you know that the word says that if you are of Christ you can’t be offended? Probably not, it appears most atheists read the Word more frequently than most of the “Christians” I have encountered.

I ask you again what have I done to you? Try to provoke you to study, what a jerk.

For future purposes, you had better grow up just a bit or you’re really in for some hurt.

The reason we experience so much pain is because we are not ready for the trial. I have lost 3 friends this year, I am not talking about somebody that doesn’t talk to me anymore, these people are dead. This is God’s way of getting me ready bury my mom and my siblings. That’s right, that day will come. The stuff you are going through now is nothing if you are going to truly serve The King. Your trials are preparation, don’t whine, ask God what it is you should learn.

NONE of you KNOW me, yet you have been chomping at he bit to knock me down. Why?

BAD FORM. To be humble enough to admit that I needed and got corrected, yep that would be arrogant, if you are shallow. To tell brothers and sisters that they are Biblically required too read and know their Bibles, yep arrogant. Man what an arrogant jerk, who is this guy to tell me to read and know my Bible.

What an *ss! This man thinks he is always right! Only the insecure, uneducated, shallow, scared, and lazy would stand on that soapbox for any time. Especially when the person being attacked is trying to help you and bring wisdom and maturation to some who are getting ready to suffer needlessly. Some are already suffering.

Go ahead, lift yourself up and Satan will knock you down. You will be faced with real trials, many of you will quit or grow angry with God.

You need your elders, even if you don’t like them. Get over it.

And nothing could be more high-horsed or arrogant, than to think you can’t use some correction.

Wow, my ministry is bigger than Gods Word, look out, I’m saving the world.

Once again, if the world is to be reached it will be by new mediums, current language, cultural and social interaction from the Church.

Never forget, however, it is the Word of God that is the truth, not Mel Gibson’s craft. We repent because of the goodness of God, not because we are slick. The goodness of God is expressly represented in the living Word. This Word is the personal manifest of God.

There is no promise of fun in the Bible, we are not told that after we receive Christ that all our lives will be giddy. We are told that we will suffer for His sake.

AS FOR SAINTS BEING CORRECTED: Another sad chapter is when a saint is quietly corrected and becomes bitter. This is just like a juvenile, a teenager.

We go through spiritual lives in a parallel fashion to our carnal life or flesh. We are infants, then children, then adolescent, then MAYBE adulthood, and finally elder.

Over the years I have noticed that as teenagers we get this “you can’t tell me anymore I’m not a kid” kind of attitude. We are certain that we now know and our parents (elders) can no longer speak into our life. For some this is a phase, for others, it is a rut. I have many friends whom have never gotten past this phase. They are convinced that life is supposed to be a party (FUN), limitless, live and let live. Nobody should judge me! How tragic. Seeing a 45 year old that can’t accept responsibility. This is how many Christians behave.

When corrected by our elders, we rant, we kick, we cry, and finally we run away. Just like a teenager running away from home. We fail to learn because we turn it into some hate filled accusation against our once mentor. Being the accuser of our elders (brethren) becomes our way of covering our shallow position. We don’t want to change, we don’t like admitting that someone we don’t even like, is correct. We have been pretending to care about others, yet we can’t even hear another. Filled with pride rather than humility.

Some of you are reading this and are thinking “Dennis, you are the most arrogant person I have ever known”. My response is “look in the mirror” are you sure you see humility.

Did you leave your Church to pursue God or you? Did you leave because you weren’t getting your way? Nobody recognizes how spiritual you are? You know more about this topic than anyone else in this Church and they gave that ministry to brother so and so.

Believe you me, I have been as patient and humble as any one should be expected to be. I have waited for “leaders” to so much as communicate with their faithful servants. Only to be told by these so called leaders that they are all anointed and what I am questioning is none of my business, even when it is my time they waist.

I have heard all your rules, the ones that exalt the rulers. All the claims of Godliness while you’re walking in false humility. At least when you get me you get what you see.

IN CLOSE: You may respond in any fashion you so choose. I am not so shallow as to be offended. I will respond, if you don’t want a response don’t post. If you are a juvenile (by age) please don’t comment. If you are truly trying to challenge and be challenged please, please, speak you piece. I want to grow up, do you?
